Gruppo di Azione Locale per lo Sviluppo Rurale dell’Area Grecanica (GAL) will primarily engage toward the development of innovative teaching methodologies in textual and digital formats. GAL’s extensive work in supporting and safeguarding the Greko minority has resulted in a number of innovative projects, such as Grekopedia, that have drawn the interest of young people to the cultural heritage of their home place.
Grekopedia is the first application for Android and iOS in the Greek-speaking area of Calabria. This app provides information about the history and culture of the area and, crucially, it includes the first online dictionary of Greko. The success of Grekopedia further convinced the organization to explore new methodologies to get the younger generations actively involved in the process of revitalization of the Greko language and culture.
