Storybook “Ta ònera tu Pandalemu”
Ta ònera tu Pandalemu: A collection of short stories set between dreams and memories of the writer who has experienced them and takes on the task of writing them down directly in Greko. The book is conceived as an opportunity to sit down, learn, and practice the language, imagining that the stories were told in front of a fireplace, as they used to happen in the past. For this reason, each story includes traditional sayings and songs that have been transmitted and sung for generations and which represent the immense cultural richness of Calabrian Greek. Furthermore, Greko is deliberately combined with the Romance dialect spoken in the area, disclosing expressions of thought shared by both languages and hidden under common grammatical structures of these contact languages, which the student/reader can quickly recognize.
